Senior Accountant

The City of Umatilla is recruiting for a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant will perform complex professional, administrative, and technical accounting and finance duties in maintaining the fiscal records of the City. The incumbent will oversee and ensure compliance of various grants and loans. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree preferred) with at least five years of experience in finance, budget development and management, analysis, and reporting. Three years of experience managing grants or loans (public or non-profit sector preferred), presenting complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders, and a strong background in financial software and systems, such as ERP and accounting software is also required. Other preferred qualifications include a CPA or other relevant professional certification. 

Salary/Benefits: $84,588 - $99,432 / year (depending on qualifications),  City paid medical insurance for the employee and one dependent (additional dependents may be added for a modest employee contribution), City paid annual HRA VEBA contribution, City paid employee and employer portion of PERS, 10 paid holidays, generous employee leave programs, and optional participation in deferred compensation program with City match.
