Community Development Manager

The City of Umatilla is recruiting for a Community Development Manager. The incumbent will perform a variety of tasks related to building relationships with current and potential businesses and other community partners. The incumbent will assist and provided technical advice and guidance to the community in the implementation, planning, and execution of community development programs and initiatives. Incumbent will coordinate various aspects of grant preparation and submission as well as assist the Department Director in the development of the department budget and help manage financial operations of the department. This position requires a Bachelors Degree with coursework in business administration, economic development, public administration, real estate, marketing, finance, planning, or related field. Five (5) years experience in community development, planning, or economic development, as well as five (5) years experience engaging diverse groups of stakeholders and community organizations. At least three (3) years of experience in office management, grant writing and coordination, project management, and program development, implementation, and evaluation. A valid drivers license is also required. 

Salary/Benefits: $84,588 - $99,432 / year (depending on qualifications),  City paid medical insurance for the employee and one dependent (additional dependents may be added for a modest employee contribution), City paid annual HRA VEBA contribution, City paid employee and employer portion of PERS, 10 paid holidays, generous employee leave programs, and optional participation in deferred compensation program with City match.
