Building Inspector

The City of Umatilla is recruiting for a Building Inspector with preferred certification as either a Commercial Plumbing Inspector (PI) or Electrical Specialty Code Inspector (EI). This position requires two (2) years continuing education in pre-engineering, construction technology, or closely related field OR experience in the application and interpretation of City, State, and Federal laws, rules, and regulations, and at least one of the following Oregon State Certifications (or equivalent experience that would allow a candidate to become certified): Structural Plans Examiner (PEA), Structural Inspector (SIA), Mechanical Inspector (MIA), Fire and Life Safety Plans Examiner (PEF), Residential Structural Inspector (CAS), Residential Plan Examiner (CAX), Residential Plumbing Inspector (CAP), Residential Electrical Inspector (CAE). Must have a valid driver’s license or have ability to acquire. Salary $78,564 - $95,724/yr. DOQ plus excellent benefits.
